Industry · Water Damage Restoration

Restoration calls go to
whoever ranks first.

When someone needs water, fire, or mold cleanup, they Google. They don't shop around. They call whoever shows up in the local pack and looks like they can be on-site fast. If that's not you today, we fix it.

Four searches, four different readers

One flood, four different searches.

The same incident produces a panic search, a policy question, a slower remediation search weeks later, and a referral partner checking you out. Building only for the panic wins the cheapest of the four and leaves the rest to whoever wrote the pages you did not.

  • "emergency water damage" at two in the morning

The purest version of this business. Phone in hand, standing in it, calling the first result that looks like it answers. Your profile hours and your map position decide this one entirely — the website is not read.

  • "does insurance cover water damage"

Same homeowner, a few hours later, now trying to understand what they have signed up for. Almost nobody in the trade writes this page properly, which makes it one of the cheapest ways to reach a buyer who is already committed to spending.

  • "mold remediation" plus a city

A slower, more considered search, often weeks after the original leak. It is a different reader with different questions — testing, containment, what gets removed — and it deserves its own page rather than a bullet on a services list.

  • A restoration company name typed by an adjuster

Referral partners check you before they send work. A thin page with no certifications, no job photos and no explanation of how you document a claim makes it easier for them to send the next one somewhere else.

Why this niche is different

Restoration SEO isn't generic local SEO.

  • You only get the call if you rank first

A flooded basement at 2 a.m. doesn't scroll to page 2. Whoever sits in the top 3 of the local pack takes the job. We get you there and keep you there.

  • Insurance buyers don't price-shop — they speed-shop

When an insurer is paying, the homeowner doesn't care if you're a bit cheaper. They care that you can be on-site in 60 minutes. That's a positioning play, and it lives on your website and GBP.

  • Your competitors run paid ads. You should too — but smarter.

Most restoration firms blow their budget on broad Google Ads getting tire-kicker leads. We build narrow campaigns targeting "emergency water damage near me" with proper conversion tracking, so every dollar is attributed.

What a good restoration site needs

Four things, and one of them is a promise you can keep.

  • Hours and response time you can actually honour

Emergency hours on the profile change which searches you appear in, which means setting them wrong is worse than leaving them narrow. If nobody answers at three in the morning, do not claim it. Restoration reviews are unusually brutal about broken response promises, and those reviews then damage the ranking the claim was meant to win.

  • A page that explains the insurance side

What a policy typically covers, whether calling a restoration company affects a claim, who pays whom and in what order, what documentation an adjuster expects. This is the most-searched and least-written content in the trade. Writing it puts you in front of a homeowner at the moment they are deciding who to trust.

  • Separate pages for water, fire, mold and storm

They are four different emergencies with four different timelines and four different sets of questions. One combined damage restoration page cannot be genuinely about any of them, and the mold reader in particular is weeks removed from the water reader in urgency and intent.

  • Proof aimed at partners, not only homeowners

Certifications, equipment, the documentation process and photographs of real jobs. Adjusters and plumbers look for different things than a panicking homeowner does, and a page written only for the panic leaves the referral side of the business unsupported.

How we work

Four steps, in this order, for a reason.

Profile before pages, emergency pages before insurance content, area pages last and only where you can actually get there. Done out of order you end up ranking in towns you cannot reach and losing the reviews to prove it.

  • 1. Audit — where you actually stand

Map-pack position across a grid of your response area, what you rank for organically, your profile checked against Google’s guidelines, and what the firms above you have that you do not. You get the findings whether or not you hire us.

  • 2. Profile first, because emergencies are decided there

Hours set to what you genuinely staff, categories and services chosen for how people search in an emergency, real job photos, and the after-hours behaviour tested rather than assumed. Then the site fundamentals: titles, schema, internal links, speed and the mobile layout.

  • 3. Emergency pages, then the insurance and partner content

Water, fire, mold and storm each get a real page, written for the state the reader is in. The insurance explainer and the adjuster-facing material follow, because that is where the durable advantage is. Area pages only for places you can reach in the time you advertise.

  • 4. Reviews and monthly reporting

A review process built into job completion, when the basement is dry and the customer is relieved. Then monthly: grid positions across the response area, keyword movement, organic traffic, form fills and calls. If a page has had a fair run and has not moved, we change it and say why.

Is this you?

We're a fit if you check 4 of these 6.

We don't take every restoration company. We work best with independent and family-run firms that already know how to run jobs — they just need the phone to ring more.

A fit if

  • You handle water, fire, smoke, mold, or storm damage cleanup
  • You're IICRC certified (or working toward it)
  • You can dispatch a crew within 60–90 minutes
  • You bill insurance directly or work with major carriers
  • You're an independent or family-run firm — not a Belfor / ServiceMaster franchise
  • You operate anywhere in Ontario (we're service-area-friendly across the province)

Not a fit if

  • You don't handle water, fire, smoke, mold, or storm damage cleanup
  • You're not IICRC certified and aren't working toward it
  • You can't dispatch a crew within 60–90 minutes
  • You're a national franchise like Belfor or ServiceMaster, not an independent or family-run firm

What this costs

Honest pricing for restoration firms.

Most restoration clients fit our Growth tier or Scale depending on service-area coverage. Builds are scoped to the site you need. The first month is always the Visibility Jumpstart so you see the work before the retainer kicks in. Recommended starting point: Visibility Jumpstart → a monthly retainer Growth. 7-day audit + GBP overhaul + page fix, then Growth retainer. Jumpstart credited 100% to month 1.

Questions restoration owners ask

Most of our work comes from adjusters and plumbers. Does search matter?

It matters in two ways. The obvious one is the homeowner search you are not currently winning. The less obvious one is that referral partners check you out before they send anything, and increasingly so do the homeowners they refer. An adjuster who has your name and finds nothing but a thin page is less likely to keep using it. Search work makes the referral pipeline more durable, not just bigger.

Should our profile show 24/7 hours?

Only if someone genuinely answers at three in the morning. Emergency hours on the profile change which searches you appear in, so setting them when nobody picks up produces the worst possible outcome — you get the call and lose it, and the homeowner leaves a review about it. Set the hours to what you actually staff, then fix the staffing if you want the after-hours searches.

Is it worth writing pages about insurance claims?

It is usually the highest-value content in this niche and almost nobody writes it properly. A homeowner who has just discovered water in a finished basement does not know what their policy covers, whether calling you affects the claim, who pays whom, or what documentation an adjuster expects. Answering that honestly puts you in front of somebody who is going to spend money either way, and it costs nothing to be the one who explained it.

Do we need city pages for every town we cover?

Only for places you really cover with the response time you advertise. Restoration is decided by how fast you can be on site, so a page for a town you can reach in twenty minutes is worth building and a page for one you cannot reach in two hours is a liability. A handful of real area pages beat a pile of thin ones, and Google is good at telling the difference.

How does this work alongside the ads we already run?

Ads cover the urgent searches immediately; SEO and the profile take the same searches over time at no cost per lead. The usual pattern is narrow, urgent-intent ads running while the profile and pages build, then a decision at a review point about whether the ad spend still earns its place. If the ads are working, we do not touch them for the sake of it.
